Department: | Field Ministry |
Location: | Whittier, CA |
Description:
The Greater Whittier Area has a dense and diverse population within a large geographical expanse. The area serves a broad demographic and reaches kids from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic standing. Our area has many middle schools with thousands of students. Introducing Jesus Christ to middle school students is of utmost importance. Presently, there are vibrant Young Life and Creators ministries available for high school students. The current Greater Whittier Young Life community is blessed with an engaged committee, good community support, school relationships, and generous donors.
We are looking to hire a full-time staff associate for WyldLife (middle school). The staff member will create a new middle school program in the Whittier area. To ensure success, it is important to focus on developing volunteer leaders and establishing strong connections with schools, teachers, principals, pastors, parents, and city business leaders. Resilience, tenacity, and a commitment to God’s Word and this ministry are essential for success. At the core of this role, we are looking for a leader of leaders. We are looking for someone who prioritizes recruiting and investing in volunteer leaders and staff, but also models working with kids in an ongoing direct ministry capacity. This person would also be part of a dynamic region with like-minded staff, all pursuing kids in their areas with passion and hearts for collaboration.
Note: Because of the missionary nature of this role, staff are expected to live in the community they are serving. There is not a remote option available. Additionally, personal fundraising is required as a part of the employment process.
