Development Director Developing Global Leaders (DGL)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

This position will ensure the Developing Global Leaders (DGL) program is successfully funded through vision donor partnerships.

Essential Duties:

  • Work as a vital part of the DGL team, with the goal of funding the entire program.
  • Expose and create donor partners with Young Life College, Foundations, churches, individuals, regions, areas and personal network to the work of DGL using Relationship Centered Engagement principles, and thus will have responsibilities broader than DGL.
  • Track and record all donor and potential donor touches through YL Connect.
  • Serve as a host or camp speaker at Trail West to share the Gospel and promote DGL sponsorship.
  • Seek out local and national foundations to support DGL students.
  • Engage churches in supporting a DGL student.
  • Engage Young Life College to support DGL students.
    • Utilize a student supported giving model with a suggested monthly gift of ($5-25) to the local area, who then would transfer the funds to DGL. This encourages students to start giving to the local area.
  • Create and execute one local fundraiser that can fund one or more students per year, and expose local people to International Young Life (specifically DGL).
  • Participate with the DGL team to effectively communicate and thank DGL donors.

Goals and Expectations:

Personal Support

  • Raise $25,000 in annual personal support.

Year One Sponsorship Goals

  • 30 Students fully funded via:
    • 10 sponsorships from foundations, churches and personal network
    • 10 sponsorships from Trail West guests
    • 5 Young Life College sponsorships
    • 3 foundation sponsorships
    • 2 church sponsorships

Ongoing Sponsorship Goals

  • Year 1: 30 Students
  • Year 2: 35 Students
  • Year 3: 40 Students

Education:

  • BA required.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent domestic and international travel required for assignments, conferences, meetings and retreats.

Qualifications Required for the Job:

  • Extensive Young Life knowledge.
  • Extensive training in RCE (Relationship Centered Engagement).
  • Knowledge of the capacities and use of YL Connect (Salesforce).
  • Loves people and can connect with them quickly.
  • Able to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Able to give spiritual leadership.
  • Able to work with all field staff and their supervisors.
  • Able to work effectively as a team member with Development Staff.
  • Has a team attitude / team player.
