Staff Associate, WyldLife — Madison, WI

Dane County Young Life is looking for a Staff Associate to oversee our Westside WyldLife (middle school) ministry, which includes ministry teams to Middleton, Mt. Horeb, and Verona schools, with additional students attending from other Madison schools. This is a great place to serve in a multi-ethnic context with the socioeconomic mix of both suburb and city. Volunteer teams consist of local adults, college-age, and high school student leaders.

Within 15 minutes one can be downtown on the university’s campus or one of Madison’s lakes. Dane County offers a beautiful outdoor culture with a wide range of activities and people. The staff member would be asked to live on the west side of Dane County.

Young Life has a rich 45+ year history of ministry in Mt. Horeb with 12+ years for Verona and 4+ years in Middleton. We are seeking a candidate with high cultural intelligence, as this ministry currently serves a broad range of students. As a part of the larger Dane County Young Life area, the Westside club is an excellent place for a Staff Associate to complete Young Life’s staff training, be connected to a strong staff team, and to be developed toward a future Area Director position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Embody a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Work with the area director to grow and develop outreach to middle school students and a discipleship plan.
  • Oversee direct ministry and leadership development for WyldLife including but not limited to club, leader recruiting/training, and the area.
  • Events/Fundraisers: Provide Christian mentorship to middle school students.
  • Complete all national and local Young Life trainings.
  • Attend all area staff meetings and regional meetings.
  • Be available to serve on a month-long summer camp assignment two of every three years.
  • Expect to accompany students on one to two trips to Camp every summer.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with the community and volunteers.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit, and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders, and community members).
  • Learn to build a mission community of adults/parents.

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Spanish skills preferred.
  • Previous Young Life experience preferred.

Notes:

  • Range of $8,000 - $25,000 annual fundraising commitment (professional training received).
