Staff Associate I - Young Life College Madison, WI

Come be a part of the Young Life College team in Madison, Wisconsin, a vibrant ministry where the Gospel is moving forward among college students! This position will be an ideal place to do significant ministry while also growing in leadership and receiving Young Life staff training and other professional development opportunities.

Young Life’s Staff Associate role requires a dynamic, vibrant personality who will lead the charge of Young Life College. This person is a self-starter with a high sense of drive and a missional mindset. She or he loves the Lord and has a growing spiritual life outside of the ministry. This person possesses the perseverance to ask, inspire and motivate volunteers and students in the ministry. This position must be able to multitask and prioritize what is necessary for the ministry at any given time. Presence and relationship-building are primary, and we place a massive emphasis on uninterrupted time with students. Come be a part of the Young Life College team in Madison and help us continue to build ministry across Madison in conjunction with the Dane County team who lead WyldLife and Young Life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Embody a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Love and pursue students on campus daily.
  • Rally and invite students to go on trips like fall weekend and spring break.
  • Establish a presence among the student body.
  • Form a healthy foundation for ministry to grow for years to come.
  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and corporate level.
  • Lead or co-lead Young Life College club; lead/supervise effective small groups with excellence.
  • Recruit, develop and sustain diverse student leaders and adult volunteer leaders.
  • Implement ongoing plans and opportunities to maximize Gospel proclamation.
  • Work in partnership with the rest of the Dane County team.
  • Participation and leadership in area and regional staff events and training.
  • Intentional strategy of discipleship.
  • Develop a robust team of personal fundraising.
  • Ability to build, train, recruit and grow teams of people (student leaders, adult leaders and committee members).
  • A servant leader who is teachable, innovative, collaborative and flexible.
  • Participate in dynamic direct ministry with college students.

Qualifications:

  • College degree.
  • Proven relational skills with both college students and adults.
  • A call to reach students with the Gospel.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior Young Life experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in developing people.
  • Strong initiative and vision.

Personal Fundraising

  • Range of $20,000-$30,000 annual commitment (training received).
  • Assist the area committee and staff in raising the remainder of the budget.
