AREA DIRECTOR — Northeast Texas Region

The Northeast Texas Region is prayerfully seeking visionary leaders to serve as area directors across the region.

These new area directors will join committed teams across the Dallas Metroplex and East Texas. There are ministry opportunities across all areas: Young Life, WyldLife, Capernaum, and YoungLives.

The right candidate will be deeply committed to kid work and Biblical truth, as well as her or his personal spiritual development. This person will be energized by region's multiethnic, socio-economically diverse, and suburban/urban/rural communities. He or she will value a culture of belonging, collaborative communication, and dynamic strategies to reach every kind of kid. If you are passionate about Christ and kids, have creative drive, and want to put down roots for a career in ministry, the Lord may be calling you to the Northeast Texas Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and area level.
  • Supervise, support, and develop area staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Develop and sustain student leaders and adult volunteers, including a committee.
  • Develop and execute an area vision and strategic plan.
  • Work in partnership with the committee on the financial development of the area.
  • Participate in dynamic direct ministry with kids (contact work).
  • Participation and leadership in annual staff events and training.
  • Committee recruitment/training/leading and maintaining relationships and roles.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with shepherding volunteer leaders and/or staff.
  • Spiritual maturity and a growing faith.
  • Successful track record in working with adolescents and sharing the Gospel.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in developing people.
  • Strong initiative and vision.
  • Experience in raising money and managing a budget.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with adults in the community.
  • Prior Young Life experience preferred.
  • Experience with Asian-American and Latino communities preferred.
