Web Communications Intern

Department: Communications
Location: Colorado Springs, CO

?The web communications intern will work under the supervision of the Web Solutions team to further the mission of Young Life through web content creation and content management. The intern will be included in Communications team and cross-functional project planning/update meetings and learning/training opportunities.


Essential Duties:

  • Assist with content development and postings tasks within Young Life communities.

  • Recommend fresh ideas for reaching key audiences.

  • Learn and use our current CMS platform(s), including Sharepoint 2010 and SalesForce communities.

  • Manage and maintain text, graphics and photography for Young Life's internal and external websites (public, staff resources, mSites, campSites).

  • Assist as needed in tasks related to current web group initiatives.

  • Assist in the development of goals for the audiences for each of Young Life's core websites.

  • Create and track web campaigns.

  • Learn and use Google Analytics and AdWords pertaining to Young Life’s core websites.

  • Special projects as assigned.



  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree

  • Digital media, digital marketing, web design and communications majors preferred.


Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.


Qualifications Required for the Job/Preferred Skills:

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Interest in web communications or marketing.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, the Adobe Suite and PowerPoint.

  • Experience working with websites.

  • Experience with HTML or CSS preferred.

  • Familiarity with the mission and structure of Young Life.
